WG schools and the National Honor Society held a drive called "Bundle Up Black Mountain" to help the people of Black Mountain, NC after hurricane Helene. We were able to collect 500-600 coats, 300 blankets, hats, gloves, scarves, sweaters and sweatshirts. This past weekend, the clothing was brought to Black Mountain, NC, a town of 8,500 residents. The distribution center in Black Mountain still serves 2000-3000 people on a weekly basis. Although they got potable water back on November 19, there are many people along the French Broad River and in the mountain areas who still do not have water and electricity. Thank you to all who helped make this a successful drive.
