A number of new electives will be offered by returning faculty, including new electives in Ag, science, math, business, career connections, and computer applications.  We will offer eight dual college credit classes.  We will continue our one-to-one technology program where all grade 6-12 students will be assigned a Chromebook to use here and take home and all elementary students will have access to a Chromebook during the day.  Chelsea Junkins will be teaching new sixth and ninth grade technology classes to help students develop necessary skills.  Megan Campbell will be teaching two BGSU College Credit Plus English classes for the first time.

We are part of a consortium of 15 districts (only Auglaize County district) that was awarded a Straight A grant and will be do career exploration, externships, and teaching a seven module manufacturing class, integrated in Tyler Turner’s Project Lead the Way “Design and Modeling” and STEM classes.  Students completing the class will earn a Rhodes State College certificate.

The W-G Board of Education is committed to help every child reach their potential. We want to give every student the opportunity to become proficient with current technology, to develop creativity, and to have a dream beyond school.  Parents please encourage your child to participate in one or more of our extracurricular activities, a sport, art show, theatre, science project, other.  Have them try something new, to be part of a team, a project, something special that will help them identify interests and build confidence.

We extend a sincere thank you to all of our boosters and volunteers; we appreciate all you do.  Everyone, please join us in helping all of the children in our community learn, grow, and feel like a real human being; and parents please do not hesitate to contact our teachers to seek detailed information so you can help your children work on targeted areas of growth.

This is your school district.  Please feel free to contact me at any time with any concern, issue, or idea.  Feel free to stop by school to say hello and share your thoughts with me.  Or call me at 419-568-9104 or e-mail me at pfisterc@wgschools.org.  Thank you.  Chris Pfister
